One customer finds yet another new impressive use for the Tutti Bimbi Freezer Tray - Poach 9 Eggs Perfectly in One Go!
The Tutti Bimbi baby food freezer tray has yet to have its versatility questioned, with various alternative uses for the product including the baking of cupcakes, storing herbs, jello moulds and even for use as a paint palate.
It was only recently, after receiving a silicone egg poacher in my Christmas stocking that I thought to myself, ‘I wonder whether I could poach eggs with the Tutti Bimbi tray?’
The Tutti Bimbi tray has 9 perfect egg sized portions, unlike other products such as the ‘Poachpod’ which only holds two. The ‘Poachpod’ isn’t so beneficial to those working in the catering industry, as they may be required to supply numerous amounts quickly to hungry guests. This is where the Tutti Bimbi freezer tray comes in handy. With 9 x 2.5oz portions available, you have the opportunity to make more poached eggs more quickly and easily. So what’s the method?
How to Poach Eggs in the Tutti Bimbi Freezer Tray
1. Crack an egg into each individual portion section.
2. Place the freezer tray into a large pan of boiling water. Place a lid over the pan and cook on a moderate heat for 5 minutes.
3. Remove the lid to check eggs regularly. Once cooked to your liking turn off the heat and remove the tray from the boiling water whilst wearing rubber gloves, in order not to scald your hands. Carefully run a palette knife around each individual egg and then pop out by squeezing each section. This should be relatively easy due to the nature of the flexible, non-stick silicone.
4. Serve accordingly.
I recommend Eggs Florentine or Eggs Benedict, perfect as a weekend brunch!
